Jane & Eden – Sydney Weddings

April 14th, 2013

Jane & Eden were faced with almost certain rain on their wedding day but they planned the event with every belief that all would work out well and the weather would hold out ! Even better than that the light was amazing and the couple and guests enjoyed a lovely and emotional filled ceremony on the cliff tops of Freshwater. Jane looked stunning in her gown while the groom Eden remained charming and composed during the entire day. The couple held their reception at the famous Pilu Restaurant on the beach at Freshwater that served amazing food and hosted the event into the evening.

An & Ken – The Sheraron, Fiji

April 11th, 2013

An & Ken were such charming clients and I was incredibly priveleged to be able to be part of their wedding at the Sheraton Fiji in Denarau. The bride and groom were relaxed throughout the day and the staff at the Sheraton were fabulous all day. The grounds of the Westin and Sheraton prooved a fantastic place to shoot a variety of photos for the couple. The sun set was amazing and the guests partied into the evening at the Flying Fish Restaurant. The wedding was brilliantly coordinated by Chelsea Hall of Chelsea Jayne Weddings in Sydney who is an excellent Fiji wedding planner.

Monique & David – Sydney Vietnamese wedding

February 9th, 2013

Monique and David celebrated their culturally rich wedding extravaganza in four locations in Sydney. It was very special to be involved in their Tea Ceremony in the morning and the offering of gifts at Monique’s home by David’s family. Amongst the activity of the start of the day some beautiful words were exchanged between both families before heading to Vaucluse House for the official ceremony. The rain held off for the important part of the day like our photo shoot in Hyde Park and the evening reception at Liberty Palace was full of fun, colour and wonderful entertainment. My clients very kindly ask me to be seated at one of the tables for dinner and I am happy to say the food was extraordinary !

Karen & Rudolf, Mudgee wedding

January 28th, 2013

My wonderful clients Karen and Rudolf held their beautiful country inspired on a cool day in Mudgee this January. Karen completed bridal preparations at her parents home with her family where she grew up and Rudolf spent time at De Russie Hotel in the centre of town with his groomsmen. The ceremony was held at the fabulous Vinegrove amongst the lush vines and the bride arrived being lead down the aisle by her nieces and nephews along with her father. A beautiful and simple ceremony was then followed by congratulations from all the guests, with the rain giving the kids a chance to cool off and enjoy themselves in the garden. We were able to use the winery’s props and vines to bring a certain character to the photo shoot and the night progressed through dinner and the speeches the couple were able to share their time with everyone, dancing under the stars eventually as the clouds lifted. A truly memorable day !

Lizzy & Chris – The Spit, Mosman

December 16th, 2012

Lizzy & Chris held their casual but beautiful wedding at the Spit in Mosman in December. Mother nature threatened a storm but instead we were blessed with a warm afternoon and amazing late light that made the perfect backdrop for the water’s edge photography. Lizzy looked stunning in her gown and Chris’s simple but stylish attire complimented her perfectly. The vows were exchanged in front of family and friends in a park beside the bay and their laid back reception was held at Zest.

Sydney weddings

December 14th, 2012

Photographing weddings in Sydney is never a chore as there are so many places around the city which mean beautiful locations are easily found. The Rocks, Sydney Harbour, Sydney beaches and the streets of the city all offer amazing opportunities for wedding photography. Add in the beautiful Sydney wedding venues that are available to brides and grooms and the choices for places to shoot are numerous. The sun sets in the west so the harbour is the perfect backdrop to make the most of those lighting conditions at the right time of day. Sydney beaches also offer a great backdrop as the Pacific Ocean is so picturesque. The Rocks and inner laneways of Sydney city offer up some very historic and character filled possibilites for beautiful wedding photography, and you can’t go past the iconic landmarks of Sydney for dramatic backdrops.

Watson’s Bay faces west so the late light works all year round

Pyrmont has a distinctly industrial feel with the old wharfs

Sydney’s historic architecture can be found everywhere

Luna Park is a truly iconic Sydney landmark

Any wedding shot on a boat is great as the backgrounds change regularly

The Sydney Opera House is a stunning backdrop for any photo shoot

North Sydney pool is something different – with lovely backgrounds

Manly has a very beachy feel

The historic streets and laneways of the Rocks have a certain historic ambiance

Martin Pace GPO in the city centre is a popular spot for many photo shoots

Aimee & Brett – The Warwick, Fiji

December 3rd, 2012

It was my pleasure to capture some beautiful images for my sister Aimee and her husband Brett during their wedding day at the Warwick in Fiji last week. Family and friends converged on The Warwick Resort on the Coral Coast where the helpful staff made sure everything went perfectly. The couple were very relaxed going into the wedding day and although Brett looked sharp in his three piece suit, all eyes were on Aimee as she arrived, walking through the palm trees with her mum Ros, in her stunning full length Augusta Jones gown. The ceremony was emotional for many of the guests and the couple walked back up the aisle under a shower of flower petals to be congratulated by family and friends. Our photo shoot on the beach and gardens was very relaxed and fun while remaining short so the couple could spend more time enjoying the reception which was cleverly DJ’d by Ranjit Ranju with dance floor seeing a lot of action as the magnificent evening unfolded.

Michelle & Stuart – Watson’s Bay, Sydney

October 16th, 2012

Michelle & Stu brought friends and family from opposite sides of the world for their intimate wedding on Sydney Harbour. The spring weather warmed the wedding party as the bride & groom exchanged vows beneath huge fig tree next to Dunbar House in a simply yet touching ceremony. I photographed the couple amongst the fig trees and against the setting sun on Watsons Bay wharf. Dunbar House caught the last of the sun and an old time band played wonderful tunes that the guests danced to into the night.

Debbie & Paul – Manly Golf Club

October 13th, 2012

Debbie & Paul held a beautiful and stylish wedding at Manly Golf Club recently to the delight of their friends and family. Debbie proved to be a relaxed and charismatic bride all day and looked stunning in her wedding dress. Paul presented equally as dapper and his wonderful speech was matched only by his father’s, both gentlemen captivating the guests with their wit and charm. Our brief photo shoot at Manly was fun and relaxed and the couple circulated with the guests during the evening finishing with romantic bridal waltz and more fun on the dance floor.

Priscilla & Jacob – Southern Highlands

October 2nd, 2012

I was delighted when Priscilla & Jacob asked to photograph their wedding at the very impressive Milton Park Estate near Bowral. It was a perfect spring day and the gardens at Milton Park looked immaculate. Priscilla & Jacob married in front of family and friends in the garden and we were able to walk around after the ceremony with the bridal party and capture some beautiful images on the grounds. The reception was a lot of fun with dress up attire and a photo booth to keep the guests entertained after the evening meal.
